Landfall, East Saint Paul

We've set up housekeeping in Landfall, Minnesota. It's on the east side of Tanner Lake, which is in East Saint Paul just a couple of miles from where we lived for over ten years. It's a great location - two or three miles from daughters Melanie and Lori, and close to just about anything in the Twin Cities you'd ever want to see. Today, Saturday, we went to the old car show (Back to the 50's) at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. It is a huge show, covering almost the entire fairgrounds. I've never seen so much "old iron" in one place at one time in my life. Kind of a double nostalgia trip for me, it was a reminder of the type of old cars that were around during my teen years and beyond, and the fairgrounds are located right across the street from the former Bethel College where I spent my first two college years back in the late 50's. The college is no longer there having moved a few miles north to Arden Hills, but the campus is still there and is now the Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center.

Tomorrow, Sunday, we plan to visit the Minnesota Arboretum just west of Minneapolis. I've been there before, many years ago, but Pat has never been there. It's a world-class arboretum.

The weather has taken a turn for the better, in fact it's been downright tolerable - not too hot and not too cold and with only a few sprinkles. Hopefully, all the bad weather is behind us.

Photos are a view of Tanner Lake from the RV park and granddaughter Isabel, Melanie's youngest, at t-ball practice.
